 Le prochain album de Sweep the Leg Johnny arrive très prochainement dans les bacs. Ce n'est pas une raison pour passer à côté de ce vieux projet de deux membres de Sweep. Ce premier album navigue entre les scènes rock indépendantes de Chicago et de Washington DC. On pense plusieurs fois à un Kérosène 454 affûté, à un June of 44 jovial ou un Sweep the Leg Johnny sous prosac. Ces neufs titres enfilent les mélodies avec classe. Le tout est saupoudré d'un saxo inspiré et énergique. Ni trop free ni trop sirupeux. Des coeurs généreux donnent aux morceaux de faux airs de tubes (émo?)pop bien écorchés...quand même. Les autres instruments s'entrelacent pour porter les compositions dans des zones de dissonances maîtrisées et enjouées. Frais et dansant. Cet album de Check Engine guinche et tape dans le mille.
