 Comment ne pas évoquer les balades de TOM WAITS et la folie du BEEFHEART quand on parle de cet américain émigré sur le rennais NaxoProd ? Vu il y a 2 ans en concert en solo au violon dingue de Nantes (le disque a été autoproduit en 2007, y a t'il un lien ?), l'humeur est bluesy à souhait, la guitare à suer en grande forme, la fumée pas bien loin, une voix du bas de la gorge, raclée et triturée. Un agrégat de voix, guitare, basse, banjo, batterie, violon, sax sur un morceau, bref, vous l'aurez compris, le blues est de sortie, avec sa mélancolie et son soleil noir dans les poches. Cet album est vraiment bien en forme, pas de fioriture, un climat de soir d'été, autant tempête douce que kermesse folle, autant JARMUSCH que KUSTURICA, qui rappellera le blues du Howlin' Wolf, Don Van Vliet, Tom Waits ou des choses plus folk comme ce que peut faire CALIFONE et autre ORSO... Une très bonne surprise.
